How it Works

The Legacy Fund has three components:

• Non-restricted funds - can be used for any of the North Central RC&D Councils functions or programs. Will not be used for individual Council Members expenses.
• Restricted funds - must be used for the specific purpose designated by the donor.
• Endowment fund - these donations are pooled together for investment purposes. Only the interest (or a portion of it) is expended each year, with the principal remaining intact in perpetuity. NO ADMINISTRATIVE FEES WILL BE CHARGED TO ADMINISTER THIS FUND.

The Council will secure matching funds, wherever feasible, to double the investment. The Council will determine how the funds will be invested and how the return on investments will be spent. Donations may be made directly to the general fund, or may be specified to a particular area of endowment. Although specified funds are pooled with the general fund to maximize return, the return investment from each specified area is targeted for use in that are, once sufficient funds have been generated.

ALL FUNDS WILL BE INVESTED LOCALLY WHICH WILL ADD TO THE IMPACT OF YOUR GIFT.
